Catherine and Darius Brubeck have carried on the musical pedigree of Chez Kubik. The centuries-old building was restored in the 1960s by American composer Gail Kubik. His renovation added a North African Mediterranean flavor to the original Provencal structure of thick plaster walls, circular stone staircases, and exposed ceiling beams. Darius and Catherine have been a part of the Venasque community since 1986, sharing in its cultural life, performing concerts, taking part in civic societies and, through renting Chez Kubik, introducing others to the charms of Venasque.
