![]() Venasque is a classic Provencal hilltop village with spectacular views of the surrounding valleys, cherry orchards and Mont Ventoux. Designated as a "beau village," Venasque is off the beaten path yet situated in the heart of the Vaucluse region, southeast of Carpentras, northeast of Avignon, west of Gordes and just over the hills from the Abbaye de Senanque. There are two very good restaurants, a small grocery store, a patisserie and a post office. A 12th Century church marks one end of the village, medieval ramparts the other.
